Why are you doing this work?
To help heal people through constructive and honest feedback and empower people to live their lives under their design. To coach service members through military and life cycles and rehumanize them after their service.
Why Rehumanizing?
The United States Armed Forces does an amazing job at integrating citizens into the military. It takes the individual’s belief system, with no experience of military and military life, melding it into one of a team, camaraderie and service of country over oneself. Which all makes sense considering the Armed Forces are to defend, serve and protect our great country.
The United States Armed Forces does not do a very good job at helping service members transition back into civilian life. There is no Armed Forces setup to de-program service members.
MSM Coaching Group fills this vacuum, equipped to understand and aid the service member with the tools and support necessary.
How can MSM Coaching Group help?
Using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), MSM provides trained coaches to bring the best in coaching.
Simply put, neuro refers to nerves and the nervous system, and linguistic refers to language. Programming refers to how the neural language functions i.e. how the brain talks to us. Learning the language of your mind and changing it up can create so many possibilities.
MSM has former and current service members, first responders and civilians are trained and ready to assist our clients to be the best they can be.
Why Coaching?
Our clients choose NLP coaching because it helps them achieve. The NLP community has modeled useful and proven strategies for the following:
Ways to overcome blocks and challenges
Clarification of purpose
Improved relationships and connections
Improved and maintained health
Career success
Financial freedom
What is Coaching?
- Coaching helps a client move from a disempowering state to an empowering state. This may include helping the client to analyze what is disempowering them and what is holding them back.
-
MSM uses a ‘coaching style’ that encourages the client to:
Discover what they are seeking is already inside them
Uncover blind spots that helps them take the action they need
Provide skills and knowledge to assist them to navigate their future
Clarification on some terms associated with coaching are:
- Consulting – we complete a research/discovery phase and give the client the answer. We may be asked to implement it.
- Coaching – we help the client find their own answer (so they’re in charge). The client implements it, although we assist finding the answer.
- Teaching – we tell the client the answer.
- Mentoring – we’ve been there before and the client can learn from our experience.
WHY COACHING WORKS.
Coaching gives the client a way of defining what’s important to them. As a result, the client is motivated to be successful.
The coach’s role is to:
Create a safe environment for the client to explore and to clarify what they want to achieve
Help them develop a plan and success system
- Help them develop options to move forward
- Keep the client accountable and focused on priorities and actions
- Bring a series of proven attitudes, models, processes and techniques that will help them achieve what they want
Help the client make better decisions
- Keep the process motivating and (mostly) fun
What qualities does a client need to be successfully coached?
In any coaching engagement there a minimum of three key influencers
- The client
- The environment
- The coach (The coach is important, however often more important is the attitude of the client.)
The client needs at least a touch of:
- Ambition
- Courage
- Openness/honesty
- Discipline.
In addition the following states are useful for anyone working with NLP:
- Curiosity
- Playfulness
- Tenderness
- Fierceness.

The client needs to accept:
- Ownership
- Commit to a certain amount of time
Energy and focus to achieve what they want
The environment is important: Environment can facilitate and hinder the benefits of coaching. We coach our clients to create environments that will support the changes they want to make.
The reward for consistent effort and persistence can be genuine and significant life changes for the client.
